Ultrasound

Ultrasound is the use of sound waves that pass through the skin causing a vibration. This is a deep heating localized treatment and no sensation is felt by the patient. In situations where a heating effect is not desirable, such as a fresh injury with acute inflammation, the ultrasound can be pulsed rather than continuously transmitted.

Ultrasound is very effects in treating such conditions as:

  • Bursitis
  • Tendonitis
  • Muscle strains and tears
  • Frozen shoulder
  • Sprains and ligament injuries
  • Joint contracture or tightness

Electric stimulation therapy

Electrical stimulation therapy is a therapeutic treatment that applies electrical stimulation for treating muscle spasms and pain. It can help prevent atrophy and build strength in patients with injuries. It is also helpful in keeping muscles active especially after an injury or illness that causes pain and limited mobility.  Along with increasing muscle function, the contraction of the muscle also promotes blood flow to the area that assists the healing process. Electrical stimulation therapy can also be used to treat chronic and acute pain conditions including:

  • Complex regional pain syndrome, also known as reflex sympathetic dystrophy or RSD.
  • Back pain.
  • Muscle pain.
  • Headaches and migraines.
  • Disorders of blood flow in the upper and lower limbs.
  • Arthritis.

Chromotherapy

Chromotherapy  is a method of treatment that uses the visible spectrum (colors) of electromagnetic radiation to cure diseases. It is a centuries-old concept used successfully over the years.  The biological importance of light has been recognized for a long time. Sunlight absorbed by chloroplasts in plant cells permits formation of starch. Sunlight absorbed by human skin generates vitamin D. Some wavelengths of light, including near infrared and ultraviolet (UV) light cannot be seen with the human eye, and yet can have a profound biological effect. Application of different wavelengths has different effects on our body.

Red and Infrared Lights have the strongest penetrating power; and are observed by mitochondria, help generate APTs, promote collagen formation and repair damaged tissue. Red and infrared lights activate metabolism and generally enhance energy efficiency of our body.  It is effective treatment for pain relief, backaches, sore muscles as well as for tendinitis or arthritic joints.

Blue Light  is bacteria killing light. It has been found to be effective in skin cleaning, cell activation, injury recovery, and promotes protein-ossein composition.  Blue light has a calming action and is beneficial in treating neuralgias, nerve injuries and other neuromuscular conditions as well as in sprains of tendons and ligaments.

Green Light is most frequently used for skin treatments on patients with burns, sun damage and other conditions affecting skin. Green light targets melanocytes, melanin-producing cells, and has an overall calming and rejuvenating effect on skin. It treats integumentary conditions like discoloration and other skin disorders resulting from burns and skin ulcers.

Yellow Light improves cell’s oxygen alternation function, and it can be used to promote micro circulation, promoting lymph discharge, and increases circulation and blood flow to treated area. Yellow is a warm color that can stimulate both the lymphatic and the nervous systems; It is used to tone muscles and boost the immune system and, furthermore, helps to relax and restore the sensitive skins balance.

Lymphatic Drainage

Lymphatic drainage is a form of massage that helps to activate cellular functions by pushing hindered lymph vessels to contract and to therefore increase cell metabolism.  When normal cellular function is hindred or stopped by fatigue, stress, lack of physical activity, emotional shock, infections, chemical or food additives, etc., it causes swelling and accumulation of toxins in the body.  Lymph contractions stimulate the immune system, increase fluid circulation in the cell and help the body to rid itself of accumulated waste. Lymphatic  drainage massage has been shown to be effective in the reduction of  edemas (swelling), decreases the symptoms of chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia, chronic pain, has an anti-spastic and calming effect on hyperactive muscles. It also decreases swelling and inflammation in post-surgical conditions, improves venous flow, and promotes overall health.

Magnetic therapy

Magnets have been used for their healing properties for centuries, and recent  study has found that magnets can reduce swelling when applied immediately after an inflammatory injury. In addition to reducing swelling, magnets have been found to help with:  Depression, age-related mental decline, and  Alzheimer’s disease. Magnetic stimulates and normalizes calcium ions’ flow which helps healing broken bones and joints. Magnetic fields also alter enzymes activity and biochemical processes that control the pain, inflammation and bruising. Magnetic therapy is effective in rheumatoid and osteoarthritis, bursitis, tendonitis, and back pain associated with stress and fatigue.  It is likewise helpful for the treatment  fibromyalgia, neuropathy and neuralgias, sport and traumatic injuries, sprains and strains, muscular spasms and cramps, plantar fasciitis, headaches and neck stiffness.

Negative Ion Therapy

An excess of positively charged ions in the body is believed to contribute to tiredness and a lack of energy, tension, and soreness of the muscles, anxiety and irritability. Negative ions are like the anti-oxidants and have ability to bind to free radicals  (positively charged ions)  and help to move them out of the body. Negative ions are beneficial to the human body in four major ways: 1They strengthen the functions of autonomic nerves ; 2. Decrease stress, increase energy, and activate the functions of the immune system; 3. Improve metabolism and decreases inflammation; 4. Decrease pain and promote relaxation of stressed muscle.  Negative ion therapy is indicated for patients with chronic pain conditions, and fatigues, repetitive stress injuries, tension headaches, anxiety, insomnia, fibromyalgia, and gout arthritis.
